Joley Michaelson, Chief Executive Officer
Joley Michaelson, Chief Executive Officer of The BESSt Company, founded her first organization, The Sun Company, to accelerate the clean energy transition through innovative, best-in-class technology and an industry-redefining business model.
Under her leadership, The BESSt Company has separated from its sister company, The Sun Company, to further develop its advanced Zinc Polyiodide REOX flow technology.
As the CEO of a solely woman-owned national renewable energy company and a former Tesla executive, Michaelson is building the energy ecosystem of the future around the globe.
Michaelson, a frequent speaker on the future of energy and values-based business practices, has shared insights with industry leaders from Google and Oracle to Sierra Club Foundation and Morningstar. Her ‘Bottom-Line Plus’ business model prioritizes people and planet, balancing the needs of all stakeholders for sustainable and substantial long-term growth.

Kevin Meagher, Chief Science Officer
Kevin Meagher, the visionary Chief Science Officer of The BESSt Company, is at the forefront of revolutionizing the renewable energy landscape. With an unwavering passion, Kevin leads battery development, driving the implementation of cutting-edge technologies such as the Digital Twin, and The BESSt Company’s Zinc Polyiodide REDOX flow battery.
His journey into the realm of energy commenced with pivotal roles in mission-critical power for data centers and nuclear applications, both civilian and military, setting the stage for his groundbreaking work in advanced analytics.
As a biochemist by education, Meagher’s commitment to a balanced approach in the economics of distributed generation is a cornerstone of his work. Years of collecting empirical data and customer feedback have refined, targeted, and validated digital twin technology, playing a pivotal role in enhancing the ongoing energy transition. Kevin's leadership is central to the advancement of energy storage.
Beyond his role at The BESSt Company, Kevin serves as a subject matter expert for the Department of Defense (DOD) and the Department of Energy (DOE) in critical areas such as flow batteries, high-penetration solar, and microgrids. His impactful projects include spearheading the implementation of the first microgrid in the U.S., followed by successful ventures for major institutions like the FAA, eBay, Bank of America, Fidelity, and RBC.

Angela Kliever, the Director of Marketing of The BESSt Company, is a results-oriented business leader who has spent two decades architecting and executing strategies that deliver significant bottom-line impact in B2B technology, with a focus in renewable energy. Her career is defined by a consistent ability to identify and unlock new revenue streams, most notably expanding a next-generation battery company's total addressable market (TAM) from a single vertical to three distinct markets.
With deep experience managing substantial P&L budgets and leading combined sales and marketing organizations, Kliever excels at building the commercial engine for companies on the verge of major growth. She has successfully cultivated relationships and expanded battery product testing with top-tier automotive OEMs in Europe and the U.S., and her strategic guidance has been critical in preparing R&D-focused companies for successful commercialization.
Kliever offers a proven playbook for market leadership and sustainable growth and has substantively contributed to successful capital raises with venture capital, private equity, and several automotive OEM’s.
