A classical reduction/oxidation (REDOX) flow battery using a proprietary zinc polyiodide chemistry. The base technology is licensed through Battelle, with exclusive licensing to The BESSt Company.

320 Wh/L, making it 20X the energy density of traditional vanadium-based systems.
Lifespan
Long cycle life with a more the 20-year life space for commercial and industrial (C&I) applications. Virtually unlimited life.
Safety
Our battery is non-toxic and non-flammable. It uses two earth abundant minerals, zinc and iodide.
Configuration
Our portfolio includes both membrane-based and membrane-less configuration. All of our designs are thoughtfully developed using the Design for Manufacturing (DFM) strategy, which uses modular designs and standardized components to simplify assembly, reduce costs, and ensure scalability.
Routine Maintenance
Unlike lithium-ion, routine maintenance (over decades) may be required for mechanical components like pumps and valves, rather than replacing the battery itself.

At average expected power use for a residential application, the BESSt Box has an expected duration of five hours. Its peak power rating is 20 kW and energy storage capacity is at 25 kWh.

BESSt Base
The BESSt Base is the system that set the standard in versatility. At average expected power use for a commercial application, the BESSt Base has an expected duration of over six hours. Its peak power rating is 40 kW and energy storage capacity is at 100 kWh.

BESSt Bridge
This is the powerhouse of our line up and can scale as easily as the other systems. It’s the BESSt Bridge that connects to large applications, including the grid. Depending on the application, average expected power use has an expected duration of five hours or up to multiple days. Its peak power rating is 200 kW to over 2 MW and energy storage capacity is from 400 to over 1600 kWh.
